11/04/2012 - Oltec Group Easter Egg Collection for Manchester Children's Hospital

Oltec Group Facilities Management staff put a smile on many children's faces this Easter, by donating Easter Eggs to The Royal Manchester Children's Hospital.

The eggs were collected on Monday 2nd April, by the recently returned Leigh Centurions mascot Parky Pig. Together, over 60 eggs were collected throughout the company for this very worthy cause, ensuring that Easter would be a happier time for children having to spend time in hospital during the holiday period.

10/04/2012 - Mervyn Burden Joins Oltec Group Facilities Management as Major Accounts Director - FM

Oltec Group Facilities Management are very pleased to announce the appointment of Mervyn Burden as Major Account Director – FM.

Mervyn has enjoyed over 20 years experience within the multiservices sector across a wide range of commercial and financial sectors working directly with customers and their FM management. Until recently Mervyn enjoyed five years with a UK Cleaning and Hygiene services provider.

John Roddy Group Managing Director commented - we are delighted that Mervyn has joined our organisation, Mervyn is a well known and highly respected professional individual and we are very confident that he will bring a great deal of experience to the team. Mervyn will be advising the board on individual sectors and technical requirements particularly within M&E and full FM services.

28/02/2012 - Tony Peek Joins Oltec Group Facilities Management as National Operations Manager

John Roddy Group MD commented, Tony has joined us after enjoying a successful number of years in the service sector and prior to that as a Detective Sergeant with the Greater Manchester Police.

Tony’s appointment coincides with Oltec Group growth within new sectors and the requirement for us to maintain excellent communication with our customer's and a continuance of first class standards of customers service. Tony working within the National Account Team will bring a mature and professional approach to our commercial portfolio ensuring that high standards are maintained.

09/02/2012 - Ron Wood Joins Oltec Group Facilities Management as Non Executive Director

Oltec Group Facilities Management has announced today that it has appointed a new Non Executive Director effective from 1st March 2012. Ron Wood has over 30 years experience in the provision of Facilities Management services. He has served on the board of 5 companies and was previously Managing Director (National) of Dalkia Energy & Technical Services which was sold to Mitie in 2009.

Oltec Group FM has experienced significant growth over the last 18 months. Ron will bring a wealth of experience to take the Group to the next level and the existing Board of Oltec Group FM are delighted to welcome him on Board.

19/12/2011 - Oltec Group – Secure CHAS Accreditation

Oltec Group have secured the CHAS accreditation – John Roddy Group Managing Director stated that we are pleased to have achieved this very important accreditation which will support us in our commercial ambitions to operate additionally both in the Public and Local Authority sectors. During the past two years we have also been accredited with Safe Contractor and Contractor Plus.

19/12/2011 - Oltec Group achieves 133 points after successful SIA approved contractor audit

Group Managing Director John Roddy commented  “Achieving a score over 133 puts Oltec Group in the top percentile of the 650 companies in the SIA ACS scheme.

We are very proud to increase our score from 132 in 2010 - We have had a very successful year in respect of portfolio growth, this excellent score demonstrates our management capability, to manage business processes and to provide quality service to an increasing customer base and field based colleagues.

25/11/2011 - New Appointments to our Commercial Team

Oltec Group would like to extend a warm welcome to Mark Linnell and Stephanie Albinson and wish them all the best in their new appointments.

Mark Linnell is the new Commercial Manager developing strategic accounts at Oltec Group Facilities Management having joined at the end of October 2011. With over 30 years experience in the Greater Manchester Police as a Detective Chief Inspector, Mark brings a host of experience from numerous disciplines to Oltec. These include in-depth sensitive investigations, partnerships to design out crime, creating business initiatives, preparation of video and photographic evidence and major event management. Mark has also consulted on Digital Evidence Management with the product winning at the Security Excellence Awards 2008.

Stephanie Albinson joins Oltec Group Facilities Management as Commercial Manager in the security and cleaning sectors where she will be expanding the client base and providing additional services to current clients. She has gained many skills through varied roles in advertising, sales and marketing to build relationships, implement strategic planning and increase profitability focusing specifically with the Property Management Sector.

31/05/2011 - Oltec Group's Soft Services Provision - National

Only three years ago Oltec Group’s Cleaning & Hygiene business operated just in the North West of England, three years later we operate in Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham, Newcastle, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Cardiff and now London – John Roddy Group Managing Director commented, following our successes within our Manned Guarding business which has established itself as recognised  national brand, we are very pleased that our Cleaning & Hygiene Division is progressing in line with our ambitions to be seen as a UK provider of Integrated Soft Services.  

New customers include Bombardier, Muller Property and Veolia Distribution.

We have also recently opened our Dublin Office to support our Manned Guarding growth we hope also to also take advantage of our presence in Ireland to identify opportunities for all of our Group Services.

11/10/2010 - Team Charity Walk

Oltec Group FM staff completed the Borrowdale to Patterdale stage of Wainwright’s Coast to Coast walk for the Macmillan charity on Wednesday, September 8 in glorious weather.

Five employees left Rosthwaite at 9:30am on the Coast to Coast walk with 18 miles to be covered. A gentle inclined greeted the walkers heading towards the Eagle Crag following Greenup Gill meandering through the valley. Heart rates rose dramatically during the steep ascent to Lining Crag which provided a vantage point with spectacular views overlooking the terrain already covered.

Slightly marshy conditions underfoot led to another sharp incline up onto Grasmere Common. With the wind behind the walkers and a continual descent to the picturesque village of Grasmere in the distance, the pace was stepped up. Passing the fabulous raging waterfall of Sour Milk Gill on one side and the heady heights of Helm Crag high up on the other, Grasmere was reached in mid afternoon.

Leaving the village with legs, feet and backs starting to ache, the Coast to Coast walkers climbed continually through Great Tongue to Grisedale Tarn, a mountain lake in a dramatic setting. Having completed the main ascents, the group headed downhill passing the climbing hut Ruthwaite Lodge for a photo-shoot. Helvellyn and Striding Edge stood high above to the left as the party descended through Grisedale and into Patterdale. Exhausted but in jubilant mood, the group headed to the Haweswater Hotel for a soak in whirlpool baths followed by dinner at Le Mardale restaurant

 

16/08/2010 - Baroness Ruth Henig - Chairman of the Security Industry Authority (SIA) Visit to HQ

On the 16th August 2010 Oltec Group Management team hosted Baroness Ruth Henig CBE, during her visit to the North West, introducing her to our Training Academy and Accommodation facilities, and National Communication Centre.

John Roddy Group Managing Director commented, ‘it was really good to introduce Baroness Henig to our facilities and HQ team members, we have always been very proactive and supportive of the SIA and to demonstrate our capability to the authorities chairman was very positive for all concerned.’

04/08/2010 - 2nd Successive Year - AFC Group nominated as finalist for 'Best Guarding Company'

AFC Group for the second successive year have been nominated by the 2010 Security Excellence Awards.

Group Managing Director John Roddy commented 'we are really pleased to have again been nominated for this prestige award and look forward to attending the Security Excellence awards in October. The fact that we have been nominated twice is testament to the hard work of all our assignment, regional and HQ team members.

04/05/2010 - Oltec Group Facilities Management leads the way in Customer Access Technology

Oltec Group Facilities Management have further advanced their Customer Portal Access within their in house developed iCom Management software allowing customers to interact with our information sections providing improved visibility in respect of Incident Management, National and local account rostering and book on, emergency procedures and billing audits.

Ian Dunstan, Group IT Director commented, having worked with both Customers and Field Management within a number of customer service focused project groups, we were able to respond to our customers requirements and to provide meaningful solutions to assist them in their respective roles, in either the completion of performance reports or daily checks in respect of Risk and Performance.

We are currently finalising a number of other IT solutions focused on improving customer service, reporting and speedy response to day to day issues.

27/10/2009 - Oltec Group Facilities Management – Finalist- Security Excellence Awards 2009

Oltec Group Facilities Management have been selected as a finalists in the ‘Security Guarding Company of the Year’ category in the Security Excellence Awards 2009.

15/12/2008 - Oltec Group Facilities Management are pleased to announce their membership with LANPAC
(Lancashire Police against Crime)

Olivier Cavaliere (CEO) and John Roddy (Group MD) have been presented with the 'Most Customer focused business award' at a Gala evening hosted by Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce.
